''Tuesdays with Morrie'' by Mitch Albom

''Tuesdays with Morrie''
by Mitch Albom
The book review

I bought this book long time ago, but never had a chance to read it until i got sick, stayed in bed for few days and decided to give it a go. ''Tuesdays with Morrie'' is a beautiful, life changing book. It's a story that will make a reader rethink his relationships with himself and others around him. It's a book about being fearless of death and the knowledge how to face it... The enthusiasm for life that this man has is astounding and incredibly uplifting. Morrie's philosophy is that each day we wake up is a gift from God, so what do we do with that  gift? Do we celebrate, honor and cherish it? Morrie never loses his dignity, because he never lloses his love and appreciation of that gift. This book is a treasure !!!!!!
My favorite quotes of this book would be:
“So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”
“there are a few rules I know to be true about love and marriage: If you don't respect the other person, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. If you don't know how to compromise, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. If you can't talk openly about what goes on between you, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. And if you don't have a common set of values in life, you're gonna have a lot of trouble. Your values must be alike.' - Morrie Schwartz”

Elizabeth Gilbert ''Committed'' The book review

''Committed''
Elizabeth Gilbert
The book review

The book ''Committed'' was written by the same writer Elizabeth Gilbert, who wrote ''Eat, Pray, Love''. My advice would be: don't read ''Committed''  if you are hoping something similar to ''Eat, Pray, Love'', because it's completely different type of book. You won't lose yourself in a compelling story and you might get bored.
Read it only if you are interested to learn about marriage -  what it  is and what is not, why sometimes it works and why sometimes it doesn't work .
My favorite quote would be:
“People always fall in love with the most perfect aspects of each other’s personalities. Who wouldn’t? Anybody can love the most wonderful parts of another person. But that’s not the clever trick. The really clever trick is this: Can you accept the flaws? Can you look at your partner’s faults honestly and say, ‘I can work around that. I can make something out of it.’? Because the good stuff is always going to be there, and it’s always going to pretty and sparkly, but the crap underneath can ruin you.”

''Eat Pray Love'' Elizabeth Gilbert Book review

The book review
''Eat, Pray, Love''
Elizabeth Gilbert

''People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.''
I think this quote is the main quote in the book, that represents the whole book....
Elizabeth Gilbert wrote the book, while she's been traveling around the world. The book represents 3 main places she stayed for the whole year.  Firstly, it was Italy (the part of book i didn't enjoy too much) , then it was India and at last Indonesia (Bali).
The book tells the story about the women who's been traveling for one reason - to find who she is.  She got divorced to man she's never been happy with and wanted to find out what if not being ''normal''  would make her happy. When i use the term ''normal'', i mean to get married have kids and enjoy the life most typical American women have.
I can only respond to this book in positive way. As a really extraordinary book does, it presented me at some way with clear mirror....in which i could see myself clearly and compassionately.

Universe vs. Brain cell

Universe  vs. Brain Cell

Have you ever saw this picture? What does it make you think of?  This comparison made me rethink our existence in the universe..... What if, we are living as part of God and not created in his image? It's mind blowing isn't it?
The other day i saw the scene in the movie - ''Men in black" and the last scene of the movie reminded me about these pictures... so i had to give another thought about it....
This makes me think that we are like in a giant chain of micro and macro and everything is related together. Do everything gets bigger and bigger with no end? Or do everything gets smaller and smaller with no end? Maybe the most micro things turn out to be the most macro things? Or maybe the most macro things turn out  to be the most micro things?
And then another thought.... Is God everything and everywhere? I can't help, but not to think of things i am surrounded...If you zoom in close enough, there would be no difference between atoms in the chair i'm sitting in, in my hair or in the top i'm wearing....
There are so many things people are worrying like politics, unwashed dishes or annoying neighbor instead of trying to explore and find out more about something ''up there''....
The whole similarities in the pictures makes me think think that consciousness is what universe is about. We are the God, everything together makes the God. It doesn't matter if you call him Jesus Buda or in any other name. We could be Gods in oursellf. We could host many life forms in our bodies or deny the ones we don't want to have....This makes sense when you see why so many books about consciousness, or how to be happy or how to become rich and on and on, are so popular... It's because the ones writing and publishing these books, knows the power of influence you can make on yourself ...

Fifty shades of Grey

''Fifty shades of Grey''
The book review

The first thing i can tell about this book: you love it or you hate it. It's pity i didn't read any of the reviews before i started reading it.... I really tried to like this book, but the characters are flat. Otherwise, the book might be alright if anything in it was at all believable. I found myself laughing through the sex scenes rather then getting turned on by them.... and had to stop reading it, while was on the plane.
One constant question  readers seems to ask why is this book so popular? The answer is - Anna Steele. She represents every common women: clumsy, silly, shy and not ''the girl next door''. That's why it is so easy for the female readers ''to get into Anna's shoes'', as typical women has the tendency to see herself worse, than she actually is.
